I attended the conference this weekend, in Zephyrhills, Florida, and did not have adequate access to post as things went along, so here are a few highlights:
I am proud to announce that Boca Bits, the Boca Raton Computer Society, Inc. (BRCS) newsletter, took second place in the APCUG newsletter contest.
On Friday there was a dinner at Lupton’s BBQ Buffet, followed by a dessert gathering at the American Legion Post 118 in Zephyrhills. These were basically meet and greet functions, where I did meet some old friends from previous conferences as well as some new friends, some from outside of Florida.
The basic theme of the conference, Saturday and Sunday, was Social Networking, with sessions such as Virtual Worlds, Wikis, Ning, Twitter, and many more. Some sessions were recorded and can be viewed at Ustream.tv.
I wish to thank all the hard working APCUG and FACUG volunteers, the sponsors, and Lupton’s Catering, for a great conference, that gave me a lot of things to think about for use in both of the Computer Groups, in which I am involved, and personally as well.
