Basic English Grammar eBook

While checking my RSS feeds this morning, I found this post from Daily Writing Tips:

I have subscribed to their feed for a long time now, and I find a lot of useful information. This latest ebook should be useful to everyone, not just writers, who wish to be grammatically correct, whether it be in their professional or personal writings, including email.

To download the ebook all that is required is subscribing to Daily Writing Tips. Links are provided in the post to subscribe, and you can unsubscribe at any time, but I think you will find plenty to keep you from unsubscribing.

You can also follow Daily Writing Tips on Twitter as I do: http://www.twitter.com/writing_tips.

Free Email Tutorials

I was checking for some information today, regarding the Thunderbird email client, and ran across the following site: FreeEmailTutorials.com.

I get frequent questions from members of the computer clubs I am with, as well as from family members and friends, regarding various email clients. I think this site will be very helpful.

In addition to tutorials for specific email clients, such as Outlook 2003, Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail, etc., there is a General Email Tutorials section. This section has tutorials to help with email related issues: “… from troubleshooting and error codes to efficient spam fighting and email management.”

Hopefully, this site will be helpful for you too. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Virtual Box and Windows 7 RC

After reading a few posts regarding VirtualBox, I decided to give it a try, and install Windows 7 RC to try out.

The posts that piqued my interest were from:

July 2nd (Paid Article – Langalist Plus) Test-drive Windows 7 in a virtual machine

I have tried VMware and Microsoft’s Virtual PC 2007 SP1, with the Beta version of Windows 7, previously. I was able to get everything loaded, but could not get it to work with my DSL, nor my USB connection, so was limited in what I could do.

I downloaded VirtualBox v3.0.0.0 and installed it. Approx 15 minutes to install and configure. Then, I installed Windows 7 RC (build 7100) from the ISO I had downloaded. Everything works fine, in fact I wrote this post and published it using the Windows 7 RC virtual machine.

VirtualBox works well for me, so I recommend it.

My next thing, when I get the time of course, will be to try out the latest Ubuntu Linux, hopefully VirtualBox will make everything work for that also.
